Tentadora mine is located in the Peruvian Andes in Julcani district in the Huancavelica department. The mine extracts from a massive body of quartz. This quartz body is mixed with malachite and chrysocolla which filtered into the cracks of the material. Presently lapidary workshops use the quartz mass to carve spheres, hearts, and other shapes. In general, such carvings sell under the brand name “Peruvian Quantum Cuatro”. Chrysocolla and Malachite form botryoidal crystals in bigger cracks. Sometimes both minerals do cover big quartz points that formed in the wider spaces within the mass.
